Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project
We were an integral part of a team of biologists who provided services for six years to facilitate the construction of the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP).
Prior to construction, our biologists conducted focused surveys for numerous notable status plant species, mapped population locations, collected voucher specimens, and monitored the collection of plant bulbs (Plummer’s mariposa lily) for future restoration efforts.
During construction, we conducted focused pre-construction surveys for wildlife. The wildlife surveyed for were the arroyo toad, California red-legged frog, western pond turtle, two-striped garter snake, and coast range newt. We also conducted twenty-four-hour clearance and monitoring surveys for the desert tortoise, California gnatcatcher, burrowing owl, desert kit fox, Mojave ground squirrel, and other wildlife.
In addition, we also provided daily construction monitoring along Segments 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11 at the Windhub, Whirlwind, and Rosamond substations and along the Telecom 10 right-of-way.
