Trampas Canyon Dam and Reservoir Project
The Trampas Canyon Dam and Reservoir Project involved the reconstruction of the Dam to create a 5,000-acre-foot reclaimed water reservoir. Leatherman BioConsulting, Inc. monitoring services included Worker Environmental Awareness Program/Training, pre-construction and nesting bird surveys before vegetation removal, establishing and maintaining Environmental Sensitive Area (ESA) fencing, taking weekly site photographs, monitoring ongoing clearing and grubbing activities, and attending weekly construction meetings.
We also conducted weekly monitoring visits and compliance reports for submission to the resource agencies (USFWS, CDFW, USACE, and SDWQCB). After completing the project, Leatherman BioConsulting Inc. prepared a Vegetation Management Plan. They currently monitor the project’s Coast Live Oak Woodland Restoration portion, conducting line-intercept transects and qualitative monitoring. This monitoring also includes preparing Annual Maintenance and Monitoring Reports.
